The Gold Coast Arena is proud to present the 2010 Fall Learn to Skate program. We would like to invite you as well as take this opportunity to welcome everyone. We offer an inexpensive, recreational group lesson for students as young as 3 years old to adults. The Learn to Skate program is designed to develop skills that the student needs to move on to our more advanced figure skating and/or hockey programs. Our philosophy is to provide the students with the skills appropriate for their age level while having FUN. Levels are determined by the United States Figure Skating Basic Skills Program evaluation description. All lessons are offered on Monday and Wednesday if enrollment is available. The maximum enrollment is 12 students per class. LESSONS OFFERED: PARENT & TOT $ 170.00 SnowPlow Sam 1 2 3 $ 160.00 Basic 1-8, Free 1-4 and Adult $ 160.00
BASIC SKILLS INFORMATION Snow Plow Sam - 4-7 years old = Basic Beginner Skills for first-timersBasic 1 - 8 - 7 years and older = Students begin learning basic skills in an appropriate age group. As they pass each level, the skills will become more advanced. Students must fulfill the requirements of the USFSA Basic Skills Program in order to pass to the next level. Freestyle = Students will learn advanced moves, jumps, and footwork based on previous skills. All basic skill levels must be passed in order to join the freestyle levels. Hockey = Students learn to perfect their skating in order to learn the skills needed to play hockey. Adult = Adults learn skills based on a series of moves and footwork in an age appropriate group. Parent and Tot - 3-4 years old = Parents assist their toddler in learning basic skills to acquire confidence on the ice. Our Bridge Program The Bridge Program is designed to teach skating skills at a faster pace while maintaining a group lesson atmosphere. This program introduces the skaters to a series of training sessions that cover a variety of skating disciplines combining free skate, moves in the field, ice dance, and synchronized skating. The enrollment numbers are kept at a minimum, so that each skater receives individual attention. The program is ideal for skaters at a Basic 3 level and higher and is a great introduction for our Figure Skating Program. For more information contact the Garden State Skating Club.
